Proud home of the first two Appenzellers in the North America with agility championships (multiple).... " Blackstar Sophie" (Sophie) AAD, EAC, EJC, EGC and "Fiola vom Buchenstock" (Bella) AD, OAC, NJC, NGC and JHD and the first Appenzellers with herding titles "Fiola vom Buchenstock" JHD and her daughter "Wunderhund Piber" HCT.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our site. It is our goal to provide helpful information on our beloved breed the Appenzeller. The Appenzeller is also known more accurately by its Swiss name the Appenzell Sennenhund (Appenzell Cattledog) or as it is sometimes referred to in the USA as Appenzell Mountain Dog. Both the Swiss Club (SCAS) and we feel "Mountain Dog" is somewhat of a misnomer as the Appenzell Sennenhund is truly a Cattledog in its temperament, energy level, herding instincts and incredible work ethic/drive. They share little with their Swiss Mountain Dog cousins The Bernese Mountain Dog and The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog except for their beautiful tri colored markings. The Appenzeller is much more closely related ( in character) to its other Swiss cousin the Entlebucher or Entlebuch Sennenhund.
